Chetan Upadhyay is a renowned artist and choreographer whose journey as a polio survivor is a true testament to resilience and creativity. Since 2007, he has passionately dedicated himself to the art of dance, using it as a medium for expression and empowerment.
In 2013, Chetan founded the Nav Utthan Group with a clear mission: to connect individuals with disabilities to the transformative power of art. His vision is to empower them to lead financially independent and respectful lives. Under his leadership, the group has become a beacon of hope and creativity, inspiring countless others to embrace their abilities and pursue their passions. Through dance, Chetan continues to break barriers and redefine possibilities for artists with disabilities.

Initiation
Since its inception in 2013, the extraordinary dance group Nav Utthan has performed numerous times. The group was founded by Mr. Chetan Upadhyay with objective of creating employment avenues in the field of performing and visual arts in the country.

Receiving State Award from the Chief Minister of Delhi Shri Arvind Kejriwal
Chetan’s performance was recognised by famous flim star Mr. Amir Khan of Indian Cinema in the popular indian Tv series. The recognition through awards, such as the State Award for PWDs in 2023, the Rajiv Gandhi Pratibha Puruskarin 2012 and the recognition as India’s top 5 th dancer (Persons with Disabilities) at the 4th edition of Sabal Awards (2023) by Tata Steel Foundation.
